2007 LASG annual meeting was held in
Beijing from 26 to 28 December 2007. Dr. Tianjun Zhou, the deputy director of LASG, presided over the opening ceremony. LASG director, Dr. Bin Wang delivered the opening speech and Dr. Huijun Wang (the director of IAP), Dr. Zewei Lu from NSFC, and Dr. Bin Wang from IPRC,
Hawaii delivered the speech respectively. NSFC official Dr. Yunfen Luo was also present. More than 300 scientists and students from National Climate Center, the second Institute of Oceanography of SOA, University of Hawaii, Peking University, Nanjing University, University of Science and Technology of China, PLA university of Science and Technology, Nanjing University of Information, Ocean University of China, Science and Technology, Sun Yet-sen University, Lanzhou Univeristy, Yunnan University, Chengdu University of Information Technology, Cold and Arid Regions Environmental and Engineering Research Institute(CAREERI) of CAS, and Institute of Tibetan Plateau of CAS attended the opening ceremony. The deputy director Dr. Jianping Li gave a report on the 2007 review of LASG.
After the opening ceremony, Academician Guoxiong Wu, Academician Rongsheng Wu, Academician Yihui Ding, Dr. Guangyu Shi and Dr. Bin Wang (
Hawaii ) gave the keynote presentations. The keynote sessions were hosted by Academician Mu Mu and Dr. Riyu Lu.
The annual meeting lasted two and a half day, including a whole-day LASG model development workshop.
