2009 LASG annual meeting was held in Beijing from 28-29 December 2009. Dr. Jianping Li, the deputy director of LASG, presided over the opening ceremony. LASG director, Dr. Bin Wang delivered LASG annual report. Near 300 scientists and students from National Climate Center, the second Institute of Oceanography of SOA, University of Hawaii, Peking University, Nanjing University, University of Science and Technology of China, PLA university of Science and Technology, Nanjing University of Information, Ocean University of China, Science and Technology, Sun Yet-sen University, Lanzhou Univeristy, Yunnan University, Chengdu University of Information Technology, Cold and Arid Regions Environmental and Engineering Research Institute(CAREERI) of CAS, and Institute of Tibetan Plateau of CAS attended the opening ceremony. Keynote speeches were presented after the opening ceremony by Academician Ronghui Huang, Academician Yihui Ding, Prof. Bin Wang(UH), and Dr. Rucong Yu.
