Introduction

The Arctic Region Supercomputing Center (ARSC) supports a range of computational science activity.  ARSC operates multiple supercomputers, and provides a range of systems and software for modeling, visualization, post-processing and analysis.  Approximately fifty full-time staff and over a dozen student assistants and research affiliates work at ARSC.  This seminar presentation will give an overview of science areas that ARSC is deeply involved with.  Examples include climate modeling, weather prediction, oceanography, space physics, data-intensive computing, and study of next-generation application technologies.
