2010 LASG annual academic meeting was held in Beijing on 5-6 Jan 2011. Dr. Tianjun Zhou, the deputy director of LASG, chaired the opening ceremony. LASG director, Dr. Riyu Lu delivered LASG annual report. More than 300 scientists and students from National Climate Center, the second Institute of Oceanography of SOA, University of Hawaii, Peking University, Nanjing University, University of Science and Technology of China, PLA university of Science and Technology, Nanjing University of Information, Ocean University of China, Science and Technology, Sun Yet-sen University, Lanzhou Univeristy, Yunnan University, Chengdu University of Information Technology, and Institute of Tibetan Plateau of CAS attended the opening ceremony. Keynote speeches were presented after the opening ceremony by Academician Jiping Cao, Academician Jifan Chou, Academician Ronghui Huang, Academician Guoxiong Wu and Academician Mu Mu.

In the following one and a half days, reports and discussions were focused on the themes of "process and mechanism of weather and climate dynamics", "weather and climate predictability", "land surface process and air-land interaction", “monsoon and precipitation over East Asia”, “oceanic process and ocean-atmosphere interaction" and “observation, assimilation and simulation”.

Dr. Tianjun Zhou chaired the opening ceremony.
