北极海冰数值模拟及应用

报告摘要:
Over the past decades, the Arctic sea ice thickness has declined substantially as documented in submarine and satellite records. Sea ice extent created the historical minimum in September 2012. The shrinking and thinning of the Arctic sea ice has led to a transition from a multiyear ice-dominated Arctic toward a first-year ice-dominated Arctic. Arctic sea ice numerical modeling is not only a tool for studying sea ice evolution and the involved physics, but also a base for sea ice numerical forecasts, thus it has important scientific and practical values. In this talk, the reporter will first introduce numerical details on the traditional VP sea ice model with a zero-layer snow/ice thermodynamics, and on how to conduct sea ice budget analysis from the model output. The reporter will then introduce several scientific studies utilizing the model, e.g. topics on the historical sea ice minima, the role of strong Arctic storm in sea ice loss, and the impact of the atmospheric intraseasonal variability on summertime sea ice evolution. The reporter will further introduce several practical studies on polar data assimilation scheme, as well as developments on operational Arctic sea ice forecasting system.

梁曦,国家海洋环境预报中心极地室副研究员。2014年博士毕业于中国海洋大学物理海洋学专业,长期从事北极海冰数值模拟及预报预测研究工作。作为项目负责人承担国家自然科学基金青年项目、面上项目,作为参研单位负责人承担多项国家重点研发计划项目课题。在Journal of Climate,Journal of Geophysical Research : Oceans,Journal of Physical Oceanography,Climate Dynamics,Geoscientific Model Development等国内外高水平英文期刊发表论文30余篇(第一/通讯14篇)。
